The veteran ladies of metal, Kittie, are taking a trip this summer. Making stops all over the U.S., including the infamous “Gathering Of Juggalos” festival. Kittie will be headlining shows for a month and a half beginning August 11th in with ICP at the GOJ fest. Dirge Within and Diamond Plate have been tapped to support.

It turns out AC/DC isn’t the Devil’s music, it’s the sharks’ music! Australian scientists recently found that normally ferocious great white sharks are much less aggressive when they can hear AC/DC songs.

According to NME.com, the former Oasis frontman told British newspaper The Times, when asked about Dylan’s 70th birthday, “I know all about him and that, but he’s a bit of a miserable cunt as far as I’m concerned. I like that tune he did ‘Lay Lady Lay’. People go nuts for him, but he doesn’t really do it for me.”

Dramatic hard rock band Skillet will be featured on Warner Bros Records release of the soundtrack to Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon, the third installment of the Oscar®-nominated Transformers series of summer blockbusters. The track that will be contributed, “Awake & Alive,” is the band’s first #1 hit on the Active Rock chart, and the first in the history of the chart to feature female vocals.

Progressive rock giants Yes are one of the the most influential bands in rock ‘n’ roll history, and they are making a comeback. They are set to release a new album, entitled Fly from Here, and it comes out via Frontiers Records on July 1st in Europe and July 12th in North America.

Suck It and See, the title of the Artic Monkeys’ new album, has been determined to be unacceptable for display in some U.S. Supermarkets. It will consequently be sold with a sticker over the title on the front of the album, although the title will still be visible on the side.

According to NME.com, Slash has started working on his follow-up to his 2010 debut solo album entitled Slash. In a recent chat with Planet Rock Radio, the former Guns N’ Roses axe-man said that he would again work with Myles Kennedy, the singer of hard rock stalwarts Alter Bridge, but in a larger capacity.
