The ever-confrontational Liam Gallagher is at it again, this time writing off legendary folk singer and songwriter Bob Dylan as “a miserable cunt.”
According to NME.com, the former Oasis frontman told British newspaper The Times, when asked about Dylan’s 70th birthday, “I know all about him and that, but he’s a bit of a miserable cunt as far as I’m concerned. I like that tune he did ‘Lay Lady Lay’. People go nuts for him, but he doesn’t really do it for me.”
Continuing the tirade, he then went off on older acts having reunions at summer festivals: “All those fuckers playing their greatest hits are shitbags.”
In a display of blatant and yet, unsurprising hypocrisy, he got into his thoughts on modern music. “There’s nothing new I want to listen to. I’m not interested. I don’t listen to things, because you know what? I’m living in the moment. It’s like, that was a great fucking moment. Now get over it. There’ll be another one tomorrow.”
Gallagher did express that he’s not completely bitter, saying that he’s a fan of Miles Kane, whose debut album just came out on May 9th. “Miles Kane’s good. He’s young, he’s a great guitarist, and he seems like he’s having fun.”
