According to NME.com, Slash has started working on his follow-up to his 2010 debut solo album entitled Slash. In a recent chat with Planet Rock Radio, the former Guns N’ Roses axe-man said that he would again work with Myles Kennedy, the singer of hard rock stalwarts Alter Bridge, but in a larger capacity.
“Myles and I have been writing all throughout the tour so we’ve got a lot of material,” he said, “and at this point we’re probably gonna start a little bit of pre-production in June and then do the tour in July. In September we’re going to [do more] pre-production and the album is slated to come out in March or April [of 2012].”
Kennedy also worked with the guitar hero on Slash’s first solo album, contributing vocals on “Back from Cali” and “Starlight.” Slash’s plans for the summer include a UK mini-tour in July and a performance at the High Voltage Festival in London, while Alter Bridge will make an appearance at Download Festival in early June.
