Guitar International’s 1st Anniversary: Top 10 Favorite Articles

By: Staff

Guitar International was launched in September 2009 as a new source of news and information on acoustic and electric guitars. It was a collective effort by a group of friends and associates who all shared a passion for music, and particularly guitar music. During the past year, GI has grown in strength with more professional content, an evolving design, easier navigation and the addition of newcomers who are contributing their talents to our pages.

Our social networking efforts began this summer, as we broadened our sweep to include a presence at Twitter, Facebook and Youtube. We are especially proud to have added Public Service Announcements by celebrity artists, as a contribution to support good causes, and we believe this is a “first” for guitar sites and one that we hope to see other sites copy.

Our publisher, Rick Landers, established Guitar International with the intent to have it exemplify his belief that ambition and altruism could complement one another and be reflected in the manner in which the company is run, as well as how the website is presented to our readership.

On this first anniversary of Guitar International, Rick picked his top 10 favorite articles at GI, saying, “This was a tough call. One of the reasons is that I feel compelled to exclude interviews I’ve personally done with some fascinating leaders in the guitar community. My interviews with Les Paul, Buddy Guy, Paul Reed Smith, Chris Martin IV, Eric Johnson, Slash and others were compelling experiences, as you can imagine and my objectivity collapses when include them. So, here’s my list that of articles written by others that I’ve enjoyed, and not in any particular order.”
