Yesterday’s guitar donation to Guitars 4 Veterans (G4V) was very special. The guitar an all-solid body Gruene Saratoga with Honduran mahogany b/s, Alpine spruce top (aged 15 years), maple binding, natural abalone inlay with a headstock torch donated by Gruene guitars owners – John  and Peggy Byers of San Antonio, TX.

Rick Landers, Guitar International’s publisher has announced the release of his first children’s book in a series called, “The Adventures of Digit & Tess”, now available in print as a paperback, as well as an eBook. The series is about a young Canadian girl named, Tess Hopper, and her companion an AI-robotic cat, Digit. The two have a few challenges, but by the end of the book, and their first adventure to Niagara Falls, they become friends.

Recently, Rick heard about the 80 person capacity Blue Wing Frog restaurant in Front Royal, Virginia whose owners wanted musicians who wrote and performed their own songs. Some traditional-roots songs were cool too, given the Piedmont location, as well as the historical local culture of grassroots music was the music of the region.
