If there’s one complaint we at GI.com always hear about the condoms our readers use is that Trojan, Durex, Lifestyle, and the rest of the condom manufacturers don’t make rubbers that are “metal enough.” Thrash metal icons Slayer apparently heard the market calling out, “MORE METAL CONDOMS,” and decided to fill that dark, lubricated void.

Prog metal mainstays Dream Theater have released another snippet of a song from their upcoming album, A Dramatic Turn of Events, this one from the song, “Lost Not Forgotten.” This one minute sneak peak is the latest in a long line of Dream Theater teasers for the new album, which is due out on September 13th.

British stadium rockers Muse will play at this year’s Reading and Leeds Festivals, but their show will not be normal Muse fare, according to NME. Instead of a cornucopia of hits spanning their career, the power trio plans on playing 2001’s Origin of Symmetry from front to back at the festival this weekend.

The impending Lou Reed/Metallica joint venture now has a name and a website, where the legendary combination have posted some updated information on the project, which is confirmed for an October 31st release date. The album will be called Lulu and be based off/inspired by a pair of German plays.

The Carnival of Madness just started its tear across the US, kicking the tour off with a bang as part of Milwaukee, WI rock station 95.1 WIIL Rock’s hard rock festvial, Rock the Ranch at Shadow Hill Ranch in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin. While the Carnival lineup consists of Theory of a Deadman, Alter Bridge, Black Stone Cherry, Adelita’s Way and Emphatic, Rock the Ranch had a lineup of 20+ bands, adding big names such as Five Finger Death Punch, Hinder, and Candlebox to name a few.

Ever felt the brutal force of love? “Love Me” is the marriage between heavy, shred and opera taken to a new level.
It is an important step for me, as it is the first time I use my opera voice and guitar chops in a more accessible song format.
I had a blast matching the aggressive Rammstein style lyrics with exotic guitar phrases. I think the song has its peak when opera/Nightwish style vocals kick in – effectively answering the ruttish desperate calls and screaming guitars.

Four people were killed by a stage collapse at the Indiana State Fair last night. 40 people were also injured in the collapse of the grandstand stage, which had hosted Sara Bareilles earlier and was to host country stars Sugarland that night. Footage of the incident can be viewed below.
