Ringo Starr released his EP titled, Zoom In, which features 5 songs all of which were recorded at Starr’s home studio between April-October 2020. Starr collaborated with songwriters and producers, and an ever-widening group of musicians playing on the songs, some socially distanced and joining him safely in his studio

First, a short background about the evolution of modern Irish traditional music in order to put the award winning group, Flook, into some sort of context…as well as spotlight, multi-instrumentalist extraordinaire, Sarah Allen. So, there had never been a twin flute tradition in Ireland beyond a couple of flutes and/or whistles sometimes playing in unison. Flook came along in 1985 and took the UK/European folk scene by storm, first with a three-flute front line and then with two.

Brought up on The Beatles, they’ve always been my ground zero for music, the gold standard in songwriting, innovation and beautifully crafted guitar parts. Still inspired by them, I decided to release an EP of their songs called, Calvin Travers Plays The Beatles.
