The amp guys over at Fender are proudly introducing the brand new Machete combo amp at NAMM 2012 (exclusive pics below). With tremendous versatility and performance-oriented features, the Machete is a high-end, sonically powerful combo and is designed to be an essential companion for the discerning musician.
Although it was just officially launched in 2009, the PRS amplifier division has quickly matured into a comprehensive product line (exclusive pics below). From the core family of Maryland-made PRS amps to the exclusive Custom Amp Design (CAD) program to the SE amplifier line, PRS now has an option for every musician. As has become expected, PRS artists have signed on in support of all three tiers of PRS amps and are flying the PRS amp flag with vigor.
The PRS SE Custom, the flagship guitar of PRS’s more affordable SE line, has been updated for 2012 with a new body carve and pickup control configuration, and we have exclusive pics from the 2012 NAMM show below! Previously, the SE Custom had a flat style body, but for 2012, the popular SE model has received a beveled top carve, which looks and feels much more like PRS Guitars’ original Custom 24 model.
Announced in September 2011 at Experience PRS, the PRS SE Angelus Standard and Custom acoustic guitars are made with high-quality components, including a solid back and solid spruce top, a bone nut and saddle, and PRS designed tuners. Unveiled at NAMM 2012, however, is a PRS pickup system (pictures below) that is now an added option on the SE Angelus in 2012, designed to highlight the instruments’ rich, resonant, and responsive tone. The pickup system is an under-saddle design with three bands of EQ and an anti-feedback loop.
Fender’s acoustic division proudly hails the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll and transports players back in time to 1967 with the introduction of the Elvis® Kingman acoustic guitar—a sharp looking, rich-sounding version of the carefree Fender acoustic that Elvis Presley® wielded with consummate cool in the late ’60s. Unveiled at NAMM 2012: Fender is proud to introduce three highly distinctive new additions to its acclaimed Blacktop series of guitars, a family that expands the sonic horizons of the Fender classics with high-powered features and design mods. The three new instruments are the Blacktop Telecaster Baritone, Blacktop Stratocaster HSH and Blacktop Jaguar 90 (exclusive pics below).
Fender is proud to celebrate five colorful decades of the Jaguar guitar by introducing the 50th Anniversary Jaguar model at NAMM 2012 (exclusive photos below). The special edition instrument takes players back to 1962, when Fender introduced an unique new guitar that paired a modified Jazzmaster® body style and elaborate control layout with a shorter neck scale and brighter pickups with more output. The resulting Jaguar was the fourth and final of Fender’s legendary original lineup of standard electric guitars.
Paul Reed Smith Guitars’ Custom 24 model was updated in 2011 with new pickups and a redesigned 5-way blade switch, giving the flagship model a new voice and even more versatility. At NAMM 2012, PRS is unveiling yet another update on the Custom 24: its uncovered 59/09 pickups are being updated with new, contoured bobbins that arc with the strings for a more spread out, open tone. First seen on PRS Collection instruments, these bobbins are a continuation of Paul Reed Smith’s quest to continually tweak and refine any small part of the company’s instruments in subtle ways to make them better and more musical.
PRS Guitars is teaming up with In Tune Monthly magazine and Guitar Center to complement a 2012 official partnership with GRAND-AM Road Racing. 2012 marks the third year that PRS has partnered with GRAND-AM Road Racing’s Rolex Sports Car Series by providing race-winning teams with unique trophy guitars. This season, PRS is also partnering with Guitar Center and In Tune Monthly to host rockin’ and rollin’ pre-race Guitar Center/PRS Fan Days in select locations.
According to a December 12, 2011 PRS Guitars press release, the company will be partnering with GRAND-AM Road Racing for the third straight year in 2012. For the second year, PRS will again provide winners in both the Rolex Sports Car Series Daytona Prototype (DP) and Grand Touring (GT) classes with a unique trophy—a fully functional PRS SE Singlecut guitar customized with GRAND-AM and Rolex Sports Car Series logos.
