Daniel Johns, lead vocalist and guitarist for Australia’s most popular rock-grunge group, Silverchair, met Ben Gillies (drums) and Chris Joannou (bass) before they were in their teens. By the time they reached 15, the trio made its mark “Down Under” as a major rock group. Today, Silverchair’s reputation is global.

Nearly all of today’s blues-rock guitarists are Hendrix influenced to some degree. Few, however, are capable of developing a distinctive, ethereal, almost ‘otherworldly’ tone combined with the tasteful phrasing that characterizes Robin Trower’s body of work.

The band’s name was bold. It was massive. Mountain. Some claim it reflected the man standing his ground and hammering chords and the tight riff to the band’s hit, “Mississippi Queen.”

During the past few years, Fall Out Boy has literally exploded over the pop music landscape. They’ve earned their keep by spending hard time on the road, building their music, giving it muscle and gathering a global network of fans.

Candlelight Red formed in 2008 and is comprised of four rockers from Pennsylvania. Together the band has been writing songs together and spending time introducing their edgy-yet-melodic sound to clubs all over central PA, NY, MD and Ohio.

The opening day of Experience PRS 2010 included a media session, where Paul Reed Smith made some gracious introductory remarks, followed up by Jack Higgenbotham, President, PRS Guitars and well-known author, Tom Wheeler, who also served as the master of ceremonies for the session.

Queensrÿche has released an expanded 20th Anniversary Edition of the band’s triple platinum-certified breakout album, Empire. The new 2 CD and digital packages both include the remastered album, featuring six hit singles, including the #1 smash “Silent Lucidity,” as well as 13 bonus tracks, among them 10 previously unreleased live performances recorded in 1990 at London’s Hammersmith Odeon.
