Neal Schon Interview: Talking Gibson Guitars

Rocker Neal Schon handles his Gibson as naturally as if it were attached to the end of his hands. Having picked up his first guitar at age five, Neal was considered a musical prodigy and by age 15, was on the road with guitar legend Carlos Santana. After touring for a year, Neal’s musical direction was not meshing with his band mates, so he and fellow Santana alum Gregg Rolie began a new project — a band called Journey.

While other bands worried about mainstream success, Rush focused on mastering their instruments and musicality to make the best records possible.

The music business has changed dramatically over the past few years. While music is still an international language, the world has become a smaller place, and unfortunately record sales have declined in scope as well. Though sales are down, the rapid pace of technological advancements and the rise of independent artists has caused a tremendous global demand for new music.
