Black Stone Cherry grinds it out with muscled working man’s rock , with diesel fueled lead guitar riffs from Chris Robertson. Wind the clock back to the days when rock was unadorned, when it was ground in the dirt, unwashed and full of spit and vinegar and you get the idea of BSC musical roots.

First, a short background about the evolution of modern Irish traditional music in order to put the award winning group, Flook, into some sort of context…as well as spotlight, multi-instrumentalist extraordinaire, Sarah Allen. So, there had never been a twin flute tradition in Ireland beyond a couple of flutes and/or whistles sometimes playing in unison. Flook came along in 1985 and took the UK/European folk scene by storm, first with a three-flute front line and then with two.

Hilton Valentine, The Animals’ original guitarist and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee, died on January 29, 2021 at his Connecticut home. He was 77 years old.Born on May 21, 1943, near Newcastle, England, Hilton first picked up a guitar after being caught up in the skiffle craze that was spearheaded by Lonnie Donegan, whose cover of “Rock Island Line” became a Top 10 hit in both England and America.
