Australian Rock Guitarist Joe Matera To Release “Slave To The Fingers”

By: Staff

Australian guitarist Joe Matera has had an exciting year so far in 2011, which has already seen multiple releases from the tasteful guitar player. According to a press release, he appeared on UK metal legends Atomkraft’s new release, Cold Sweat, to which he contributed a ripping solo to their aggressive cover of Thin Lizzy’s “Cold Sweat,” and has also released a solo instrumental single, entitled “Face Off.” Both releases showcase his energetic, yet melodic six-string action and have brought his music to a larger international audience.

“Face Off” and his work on Cold Sweat caught the attention of European label W.A.R Productions, who immediately signed Matera to a deal. This will bring us the release of his brand new all electric guitar instrumental EP, Slave To The Fingers.

The EP will feature four new tracks, all of which allow Matera to show off his guitar prowess. Backed by Englishman Tony ‘Demolition’ Dolan (Venom, Atomkraft) on bass and American James Strickler (Angellic Rage) on drums, Matera both blasts away and brings it back down with tasteful melodies. On “Slave To The Fingers,” Mick McConnell of Smokie makes a special guest appearance, tearing up a great guitar solo.

Also on the EP will be “Cruise Control,” the first single from Slave To The Fingers, the hard rocking “Out Of The Blue,” and “Face Off,” Matera’s self-released instrumental single from earlier this year.

Slave To The Fingers will be available for purchase on November 28th in Europe (via W.A.R Productions) and in Australia (via Mercury Fire Music), and in the meantime, watch out for “Cruise Control” on the airwaves!
