In this business climate, bands are trying all sorts of interesting marketing methods to sell their albums. The Kaiser Chiefs are trying a unique idea that gets the fans involved while driving interest and sales.

Today the band released The Future Is Medieval, but instead of being set in stone, fans can make their own version of the album on the Kaiser Chiefs website.

Anyone can pay £7.50 to download the LP, and then can create their own customized version of the record by picking the best 10 tracks (out of the 20 total), put them in whatever order, and add their own artwork. Fans will make £1 every time someone purchases their version of The Future Is Medieval.

The complete tracklist fans can choose from is below:

‘Back In December’
‘Can’t Mind My Own Business’
‘Child Of The Jago’
‘Coming Up For Air’
‘Cousin In The Bronx’
‘Dead Or In Serious Trouble’
‘Fly On The Wall’
‘Heard It Break’
‘I Dare You’
‘If You Will Have Me’
‘Little Shocks’
‘Long Way From Celebrating’
‘Man On Mars’
‘My Place Is Here’
‘Out Of Focus’
‘Problem Solved’
‘Saying Something’
‘Starts With Nothing’
‘Things Change’

The Kaiser Chiefs aren’t going crazy with tour support for their follow-up to their 2008 critically acclaimed third album, Off With Their Heads, but they will be headlining a concert at the Electric Ballroom in London and will be making appearances at the Isle of Wight Festival and Glastonbury.
