Sheptone Pickup

Sheptone, an American manufacturer of guitar pickups today announces the release of their new line of single coil pickups for Strat-style electric guitars. All pickups are manufactured in the Port Orchard facility and are available immediately. The new models are designed to maintain the tones associated with Strat-style guitars but also expand on the tonal options and eliminate the problems often experienced by musicians over the years.

The Sheptone “Good Enough For Leo” Strat pickups, offer vintage construction, staggered, beveled poles, wound using #42 Formvar wire and Alnico 5 magnets. The pickups are also available with Alnico 2 magnets upon request. The pickups are valued at a standard resistance of 6.3K Bridge, 5.9K Middle, and 6.0K Neck. The middle pickup is reverse wound with reverse polarity to eliminate noise when pickups are selected together. Likewise, the pickups are wax potted to reduce any unwanted noise and feedback.

Since its inception in 1954, the Fender Stratocaster has been one of the most iconic guitars in music history. However, it was not without its faults. The pickups that were offered as stock components were notorious for creating unwanted noises, feedback and varied in tone, from one guitar to another. In addition, as the guitar developed over the years, players found way to manipulate the wiring to create more desirable tones. Taking all of this into consideration, and staying true to the belief of using uncompromising parts, the Sheptone Strat-style pickups resolve these issues and provide the player with a reliable alternative and improvement to the originals.
