Normally we here at Guitar International don’t keep up with what’s going on during the current, or any, season of American Idol. Though there have been some great singers on the show in the past, since we’re guitar players that stuff mostly passes over our heads. But, this season we were intrigued to see Chicago guitarist, and friend of GI, Aly Jados on the show. After being invited to Hollywood and passing the first round of auditions in L.A., Aly was bumped from the show, though we’re still hoping that she’ll pick up one of the Wild Card spots in the coming weeks and be invited back to compete in the show’s final round.
Either way, we have been thoroughly impressed with Jados’ recent video uploads to YouTube, where she not only demonstrates her unique vocal approach, but also her guitar chops, so we decided to share them with you, our readers. Check them out, and if you dig her playing and singing visit Aly’s Facebook Fan Page and give her a shout out. Regardless of whether or not Aly continues on this season’s American Idol, she’s an incredible talent with a bright future ahead of her in the music business. Someday we’ll all be looking back and saying, “I knew Aly before she was famous.”

She’s not half bad. The Kiss guitar strap is a little much, but she’s got a great voice.
