Guitar International is pleased to announce that our Associate Editor, Dr. Matthew Warnock, will assume the roles and responsibilities as Editor of our magazine on September 1, 2010. Matt joined GI as a columnist in the summer of 2009 and his hard work and commitment to our publication was recognized when he was assigned as the site’s Associate Editor. His contributions and ideas for Guitar International complement and have been central to the magazine’s vision and strategic plan.

Before Matt’s arrival at Guitar International, he had run his own guitar website, written articles for several music publications, as well as had experience in other aspects of the music world. Dr. Warnock also teaches jazz guitar at Western Illinois University, where he recently established the school’s annual guitar festival.

Matt has become a critical and instrumental force at Guitar International in helping us improve the on-line magazine through his interviews with such music luminaries as McCoy Tyner (pianist with the John Coltrane Quartet), Robby Krieger (The Doors), John5 and many more, and has been a driving force behind the scenes in such areas as social networking, videos, website development and marketing.
