Summer NAMM 2010: Folkcraft Instruments

By: Dr Matt Warnock

Since most of our coverage of the Summer NAMM show deals with guitars, guitarists and guitar accessories we wanted to diversify a bit by showcasing a string company who caught our attention, but that doesn’t make guitars specifically. After looking around and scoping out the offerings, the company that drew us in with their well thought out display and quality instruments were the fine folks over at Folkcraft.

Not only did Folkcraft display a wide range of their Dulcimers and related stringed instruments, but every hour on the hour virtuoso performing Bing Futch stepped up to his Dulcimer and knocked the socks off everyone who walked by. One might question the logic of featuring an acoustic instrument in concert right in the middle of a busy and loud ballroom, but when you hear the video you realize that Folkcraft instruments not only sound great, but they project like you wouldn’t believe.
