Guitar International Publisher Rick Landers Back on Stage and in the Studio!

Guitar International magazine’s publisher, Rick Landers, ventured back into performing and songwriting recently. Since his early days playing in a downriver Detroit garage band, to basking in the streets of Georgetown and small D.C. clubs, he’s been writing songs and stashing them away for no other reason than to play them as the spirit moved him.

And just this past week, a fire at the Kiss nightclub in Santa Maria, Brazil, ravaged the club that was reported to be filled to double its capacity and leaving 233 bodies in its wake.

For the second year in a row, we find that Blues-Rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa has earned our Guitarist of the Year Award. Not many artists nail down album after album like Bonamassa. In 2011, he released his critically acclaimed solo debut, Dustbowl, along with a collaborative effort with his Supergroup Black Country Communion.

Brady Lavin Named Managing Editor at Guitar International

Guitar International magazine has assigned our past Western Illinois University (WIU) summer intern, Brady Lavin, as its new Managing Editor. He is finishing up degrees in Music Business and Accountancy at WIU. His past experience has included running Rock N Rolla, a music newsletter and entertainment guide. All advertising proceeds from the newsletter were used to promote music and education.
