In the company video below, the Eastwood Doral guitar is described as an “L5 with a few differences.” Now that’s a pretty bold statement for any guitar company to make, especially one who’s comparable guitar comes in at around 1/4 of the price of a low-end L5. What is even more remarkable about that statement is that it’s not far from the truth, at least in respect to the size, relative shape, woods used and pickup configurations are concerned.

It’s 10:30 PM, I’m sitting at a wooden picnic table, and I feel great! The Monterey fairgrounds are still hopping at the 25th Monterey Bay Blues Festival, held June 25 – 27, 2010, with crowds of people standing in groups or walking around the grounds. The picnic table is in the middle of two different stages, so I can hear a blend of music from the acts still going strong.

Without viewing my article published seven months ago as a shameless plug here, I’d like to mention that when I wrote “Supergroups – Vultures, Chicks, and Other Picks,” I was certain that Slash was about to do something big, even though I knew nothing of his plans.
