Jennifer Batten could quite appropriately be dubbed the undisputed Queen of Shred, and one of the genre’s finest guitarists—male or female. The “shred” classification is, however, too limiting a moniker for a player of such exemplary technique, inspiring talent, and amazing versatility.

Newly-selected Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Heart, will join forces with Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience for a 2013 summer tour that will feature them together onstage for a 30-minute Led Zeppelin tribute to close out each show.

Dan Phillips is a graduate of Berklee College of Music. He represented the college at the Montreal Jazz festival in his senior year of undergraduate school. He has been a bandleader in Chicago, New York, Tokyo and now in Bangkok. He is a composer and educator who currently is Lecturer of Guitar and Jazz Studies at Silpakorn University in Bangkok, Thailand.

Guitars for Vets (G4V) is a non-profit organization providing guitar instruction and free acoustic guitars to injured military veterans and they have launched their “Artist Ambassador” coalition. Their first “Artist Ambassador” is Dick Wagner, who famously banded with co-lead guitarist Steve Hunter for Lou Reed and Alice Cooper.
