A rare George Harrison stage played Mastersound Electric Guitar sold for $490,000 during the first day of the auction on Friday, May 15, 2015 to an undisclosed bidder. The George Harrison played 1963 Mastersound Electric Guitar was used by Harrison in the summer of 1963 when he had it on loan from Barratt’s Music Store.

The Darkness is set to release their fourth CD, Last Of Our Kind on June 1st. Anticipation for this long awaited CD is building, fans expect the band will be getting back to their true form with a heavier, edgier, and nastier sounding CD than their 2012 release, Hot Cakes, which portrayed a softer side to the band.

Michael Schenker and the bad boys of the Scorpions, Francis Buchholz [bass] and Herman Rarebell [drums] have teamed up for an all-star tour of the U.S. this Spring. Tonight’s show lands Michael’s Temple of Rock line-up in New York City at the Gramercy Theater on April 15, 2015. To my knowledge this is the first US tour where Francis and Herman have played together since Francis left the Scorpions in the early ’90s.

Maryland rockers, Clutch, is one of the most respected and influential hard rock bands out there. They are currently gearing up for a tour this April with Mastodon called The Missing Link Tour and then plan to release their 11th studio CD in September of 2015 on their own record label – Weathermaker.

In April 2001, I was honored to interview gifted blues rock virtuoso, singer, songwriter, guitarist Shannon Curfman. Curfman, at the tender age at the time, of just fifteen years old, had just released her critically acclaimed debut album, “Loud Guitars, Big Suspicions”. Shannon was dazzling fans, critics, and seasoned music artists and veterans of guitar with her scorching maturity, authority, and command at burning up the fretboard while belting out her blues drenched vocals.
