It has been three years since Alter Bridge’s last studio album, ABIII, was released in the US, but it is clear their fans have been waiting for them to return. Jennifer Batten could quite appropriately be dubbed the undisputed Queen of Shred, and one of the genre’s finest guitarists—male or female. The “shred” classification is, however, too limiting a moniker for a player of such exemplary technique, inspiring talent, and amazing versatility.

Guitars for Vets (G4V) is a non-profit organization providing guitar instruction and free acoustic guitars to injured military veterans and they have launched their “Artist Ambassador” coalition. Their first “Artist Ambassador” is Dick Wagner, who famously banded with co-lead guitarist Steve Hunter for Lou Reed and Alice Cooper.
