Since their inception, Black Label Society has been at the forefront of hard rock. Their penchant for hard riffs and blazing solos has resulted in a slew of hugely successful albums and a reputation for being a powerful live band.

In 2007, a Jason Hook-less Five Finger Death Punch released their debut album, The Way of the Fist, and immediately won recognition from the metal community. When gearing up to write and record their follow-up, co-founder and guitarist Zoltan Bathory finally got the chance to bring in guitarist Jason Hook, who took over the majority of lead duties.

Last year in Guitar World magazine, ubershredder Yngwie Malmsteen recalled his journey to America, a country he called “truly the land of opportunity.” He came off the plane with a guitar, an extra pair of pants, and a dream, and since his breakthrough, many other European guitarists came over hoping to follow in his footsteps.
