Guerra’s latest release, American Garden, is an eclectic mix that tracks well, without going off on some tangent. Guerra sticks to the knitting with solid and interesting riffs, adds some Tom Petty and Byrds jangle, grabbing influences and driving them home to make them his own. The production is excellent and serious….thoughtful.

When The Outfield’s debut album, Play Deep, conquered the airwaves in 1986, I was but a freshman in high school. The album had actually been released in 1985, but the first single (“Say It Isn’t So” – still a great song in its own right) didn’t achieve mass penetration on American radio.

After some forty five years making music with his esteemed Allman Brothers Band, the ABB retired last October 2014 after playing an acclaimed slate of finale shows at New York’s Beacon Theater.
