Quinn Sullivan has been living in the fast lane since he began to edge his way into the spotlight by releasing his first CD, Cyclone, in Nashville, at the age of 13. He didn’t skip a beat before he was on the road with legendary blues man, Buddy Guy, touring Las Vegas, New York and the Montreux Jazz Festival.

Watching Josh Jaramillo play guitar is a lesson in styles. He can mix it up with crunch, as well as get some flash glassy tones out of his Stratocaster. And it all looks so easy, with a casual fluidity that comes from lots of practice and an inner channel of talent.

Hard work, perseverance, and simultaneously having your hands in multiple projects seem to be the new business model for musicians nowadays. Case in point. guitarist Joel Hoekstra. When he is not out touring on the weekends with Night Ranger he can be found on Broadway’s Great White Way, turning heads with his blazing eight-finger solo in the play Rock of Ages. When he is not there in the winter months, he can be seen playing arenas with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra!

If there has ever been a band that is difficult to place a label upon or box into a genre, it’s STYX. The Chicago spawned rockers are just as well known for their hard rocking singles as they are the lush ballads, that propelled them to superstardom in the 1970s and 1980s.

Tesla have gone back to the basics with their newest CD, Simplicity. From the way they wrote these 14 riff blazing songs to the way they were recorded – as a team and live, the album is reminiscent of the way they recorded their debut album back in 1986.

Guitar extraordinaire, Eric Johnson, will be releasing a collection of 14 live tracks recorded in Europe, simply entitled, Europe Live, on June 24th. Along with his collection of his classic songs, Eric incorporated two new tracks for his fans, “Intro”, a song that opens the set, and an encore rock and roll jam inspired by boating and water skiing called, “Evinrude Fever”.
