As much as I was captured by the primitive blues art of bluesman, Lennie Jones, it was our conversation that pulled me in to fascinate. I became captivated by the full sweep of his life that found its way from the dark holler of a Virginia jail, to the sweat-filled isolation when hunting down swamp rats in Florida’s Everglades.

The premiere arena rock band, Def Leppard, have announced that they will be doing a Las Vegas residency at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino from March 22, 2013 to April 13, 2013. In a stretch of 11 shows, they will be performing their 1987 release, Hysteria in its entirety from beginning to end, more than a few added surprises.

I always find it interesting to discover that guitarists, not only have a passion for guitar, but have a full tank of creativity always ready to delve into artistic areas. Brian Holland and I met in 2005, when he began his career in writing about music, with a strong inclination to steer toward the blues.

There are very few classical guitarists who have been able to reach the level of being considered a maestro. One has to work endlessly and must dedicate their entire life to performing, championing new music for their instrument, have an extensive recording catalog, and they must spend a great deal of their time teaching and shaping the next generation of students.
