Back in the ’70s Kelakos rocked and moved in circles where they played road houses and other spots, creating their own scene and trying to work their way to stardom. The group’s name resonates, but is undefined, unless one knows the background.

One of my few regrets in life was never getting to see Frank DiMino and his ’70s hard rock band Angel play live with their extravagant costumes and visual illusions. I was just a few years shy of being able to see them in their heyday of the mid to late ’70s. By the time I did started attending concerts, they had broken up and disappeared in a cloud of smoke like one of their illusions.

Gifted blues rock guitar virtuoso, singer, songwriter Shannon Curfman first garnered acclaim and recognition with the 1999 release of her debut, signature album, “Loud Guitars, Big Suspicians”. In the years since then, Shannon has released several stellar albums on her own independent record label, Purdy Records. She has recorded, performed, and and toured with such esteemed artists including Buddy Guy, John Mellencamp, The Indigo Girls, Jeff Beck, Keb Mo, ZZ Top, Carlos Santana, John Fogarty, Joe Bonammassa, and her mentor and peer, Jonny Lang.

Not many guitar players can flawlessly cross as many musical boundaries as Steve Stevens has done in his career. His prolific and innovative playing has changed the face of music, and together with Billy Idol, they helped revolutionizing a new genre of music.

Not many bands can leave a lasting impression and legacy like Judas Priest have done over the last 40 years. They have been waving the flag for heavy metal through-out their career to legions of fans around the world, influencing countless musicians and bands along the way.

Whitesnake have just released their 12th studio album, The Purple Album, which is a re-imagination of classic songs during David Coverdale’s time as lead singer for Deep Purple’s Mark 3 and Mark 4 studio albums. Turns out it was David’s wife, Cindy, who suggested he create this CD celebrating his legacy with Deep Purple.

As bassist and vocalist for the Moody Blues since 1966 John Lodge has written some of the most memorable songs for the band, such as “Natural Hour,” “Ride my See Saw,” “The Eyes of a Child,” and “I’m Just a Singer [In a Rock n Roll Band]”, to name a few.
