The Line Up!
Marty Stuart & His Fabulous Superlatives
Five-time Grammy Award-winning country music singer. Marty Stuart got his start performing with Johnny Cash and Bill Monroe before launching a successful solo career. Born in Philadelphia, Mississippi, Stuart learned the mandolin as a young child and at only 13 years of age, went on the road with Lester Flatt. After Flatt’s death in 1979, Stuart joined Johnny Cash’s band. Stuart has collaborated with diverse artists including Travis Tritt, Connie Smith, Johnny Cash, Willy Nelson, Lester Flatt, Earl Scruggs, Merle Haggard, Bob Dylan, Clarence White, Leroy Troy, Bela Fleck, and Billy Bob Thornton. In 2002 Marty began touring with his current band, the Fabulous Superlatives. Kenny Vaughan (lead and acoustic guitar) and Harry Stinson (Drums and background vocals) are seasoned session players and have performed with the top artists in country and alternative music. Chris Scruggs (electric, acoustic, steel and bass guitars, and background vocals) has accompanied many of the great singers in Nashville. Marty and the Superlatives were slated to perform at
Boak Bash One, but got stranded at the Nashville airport on the day of the show. In my estimation, these incredible musicians are four of the very best on the planet. Link:

Steve Miller
Master of Ceremonies
Our master of ceremonies is a guitarist and singer-songwriter best known as the leader of the Steve Miller Band. His career began in blues and blues-rock. Miller’s parents were jazz aficionados and close friends of Les Paul and Mary Ford and Miller was influenced as a young child by his interactions with Les Paul. Early in his career, Miller lived in Chicago, where he played with Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Buddy Guy, and Paul Butterfield. He then moved to San Francisco where his music evolved to a more psychedelic blues sound with albums such as Children of the Future, Sailor and Brave New World. In the ’70s, Miller had an astonishing number of hits including “Take the Money and Run,” “Rock’n Me,” “Fly Like an Eagle,” “Jet Airliner” and “Jungle Love.” In 2016 Miller was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Steve is sure to collaborate with his many friends on the bill and treat us to an unplugged array of his many hits.
