Bill Cummiskey, Director of Artist Relations, Fender Musical Instrument Company told us, “The Brotherhood of Guitar, has become an international community that seeks players, both male and female, spanning multiple genres and styles, that have a desire and propensity to excel at the instrument, and become better musicians. Robert Knight is to be commended for recognizing this talent and giving these great players the recognition that they deserve. We are super proud to be associated with The Brotherhood!”
The Brotherhood of the Guitar is the brainchild of rock photographer Robert M. Knight who has partnered with web guru, Bill Evans, the Fender Musical Instrument Company, Guitar Center and Ernie Ball Strings. The Brotherhood seeks to discover and highlight the hottest young guitar players around the world.
Knight says, “There are many ways that I find new guitar slingers and other musicians that deserve mentoring and support. Many send me YouTube videos of them performing, others are discovered by word of mouth or from some buzz we pick up about some amazing young guitarist. We’ve been fortunate to have Fender, Guitar Center and Ernie Ball Strings working with us and we’ve had some great support from some top guitarists, including Steve Vai, Joe Bonamassa, Orianthi and others who have graciously given their time to the Brotherhood. Our Stratocaster guitar, Mustang amp and Ernie Ball Strings contest is another way to help us promote the Brotherhood.”
To enter the contest, entrants must submit their entries according to the contest’s Official Rules, that includes submitting a one-song video of a guitarist between who are 14 – 20 years old to The Brotherhood of the Guitar, along with some key information. Entrants must be of legal age in their state or province of residence or the parent, spouse or legal guardian of the guitarist to be evaluated.
