prs_grandam_artPaul Reed Smith Guitars [PRS Guitars] has teamed up with In Tune Monthly magazine, DW (Drum Workshop) and Guitar Center to help celebrate their 2013 official partnership with GRAND-AM Road Racing.

For four consecutive years, PRS has partnered with GRAND-AM Road Racing’s Rolex Sports Car Series by providing race-winning teams with unique fully-functional trophy guitars.

Guitar Center will be the exclusive retailer of a limited number of 2013 GRAND-AM replica trophy guitars and will host Guitar Center Fan Day events in select locations for the second year in a row.

To heighten the excitement this year, PRS has invited fellow American instrument manufacturer, DW (Drum Workshop), to join the fun and pump up Fan Day events.

One of PRS’s favorite elements of these partnerships is the “Race to the Stage” component which gives one high school guitarist and one high school drummer the opportunity to win the chance to perform at a GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series event in his/her city.

In Tune Monthly, the publication for music students and teachers in grades 7-12, and DW will be co-hosting the auditions at select Guitar Center locations.

Guitar audition winners will take home a PRS SE electric guitar, SE amplifier and 18ft cable. Drum-playing winners get a DW All-Maple Performance Series 4-piece Drumset in Pewter Sparkle FinishPly(tm) with 9000 Series Hardware and Pedals Performance 4 piece tom pack w/ snare,16×20 bass, 9500TB, 9100M, 9000, 9300, (2) 9999, and 9700 heavy-duty hardware compliments of DW.

Both winning teens will also get the opportunity to perform with The Rocky Mountain Stoneflies, a PRS Guitars favorite. For details and official rules on the “In Tune Race to the Stage” promotion, visit HERE.

These events bring players additional unique opportunities, including free setups on PRS guitars, in-depth product demonstrations by PRS and DW team members, the chance to meet GRAND-AM personnel and experience their interactive mobile display, which includes a race car.

Fan Day events are planned throughout the season starting in New York on June 8th at Guitar Center Rochester with a race-day concert on June 29th at Watkins Glen International.  The action moves to Independence, MO for an August 3rdFan Day at Guitar Center and a race-day concert at Kansas Speedway on Saturday, August 17th.
