Washburn Guitars have been around since the late 1800s, as a Divison on the early guitar makers, Lyon and Healy, in Chicago, Illinois. Washburn Guitars were among the many guitars used by blues musicians who moved from the South the Chicago and helped develop Chicago blues. Today, Wasburn makes fine acoustics and electrics, travel guitars and more.
