Cathy Fink is a key figure in American music. Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Cathy got her professional start in 1973 at the Yellow Door coffeehouse having moved to Montreal at the height of the folk revival. Singer, songwriter, producer, engineer, banjo picker, guitar player and community activist, Cathy Fink lives an eclectic career in the music industry and beyond. She is not only well known as half of the GRAMMY® winning duo, Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer, but for her volunteer efforts and activism within the music industry and on behalf of issues and organizations that care about children.
Marcy Marxer is a multi-instrumentalist, studio musician, performer, songwriter and producer with 30 years of experience and a shelf of impressive awards. She is playing her own signature Kala Ukulele on Rockin’ the Uke. Marcy’s playing spans a variety of styles- swing rhythm and lead, bluegrass, old time, Celtic finger-picking, folk finger-picking and some of the most tasteful backup you can hear. The C.F. Martin Co. honored Marcy with her own signature model guitar, the MC3H which she helped design. She plays mandolin, bouzouki, hammered dulcimer, Latin percussion, banjos, penny-whistle and flutes and of course, the beloved ukulele with equal ease.
