Acepro Guitars and Dark Diamond Digital Media are releasing a benefit CD honoring America’s veterans, entitled Never Forgotten, nationally on November 11th, Veterans Day. The album is a collective host of independent artists who have donated a song to honor America’s fallen heroes. Produced by Brian Crabb, the CD is now available digitally iTunes, Zune, Amazon.com and at this location. Traditional brick and mortar stores will have the CD stocked on Friday, November 11th.

According to a press release, Never Forgotten is filled with “great music that is for, about, to help us understand and relate to our soldiers”. The album takes the opportunity to thank soldiers, airmen, sailors, Marines, Coast Guardsmen and National Guardsmen and encourages everyone young and old alike to do the same.

Proceeds will go to these three charities:

1) Landstuhl Hospital Care Project (landstuhlhospitalcareproject.org)
2) Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org)
3) 911 Families For A Secure America Foundation (911fsa.org)

Never Forgotten is filled with independent artists singing and playing Country, Rock, Blues and Americana-themed original songs. According to producer Brian Crabb, it all started with one song.

He said, “Last June, I asked Darryl Worley if he would like to do a song in relation to the 10th anniversary of 9/11. He agreed immediately, and the project was launched then and there. Unfortunately, Darryl’s schedule was so full that he did not get the time he felt necessary to record the song he had in mind. Darryl sparked the concept and started the 30-song compilation on its way.

I made phone call after phone call proposing to each independent artist of the planned compilation and within weeks, I had a handful of offered songs. The whole project took on a life of its own and with that life expanded to encompass varying styles of music. Each song kept the theme of remembrance as well as the appreciation of the sacrifices our brave soldiers and the families of 9/11 had given. The end result far surpasses the original concept and Never Forgotten came to be more veteran-oriented.”

The artists that ended up being included on this benefit compilation include some of Nashville’s best musicians: Garth Brooks’s guitarist Chris Leuzinger is featured on 3 songs, Anthony Joyner, bassist for Faith Hill, plays on 4 songs, Scott Williamson, Michael W. Smith’s drummer, joined in on 3 songs, Jody Maphus, guitarist with Willie Nelson and Billy Bob Thornton, played acoustic on a couple of songs and Andy Wood, a rising star guitarist played on 3 songs.
