In a poignant moment at Experience PRS 2011, Paul Reed Smith introduced Robert Lee Coleman, a bluesman with a guitar history that included stints with the Godfather of Soul, James Brown and the masterful Percy Sledge. Born in 1945 in Macon, Georgia, Robert stepped into the blues, R&B, funk and early rock and toured the world with his guitar wrenching, down and out dirty riffs. Today, Coleman continues to rip it up and last night, after Smith presented Robert with a “beaut” of a PRS guitar, he led a gritty jam with Davey Knowles and the Paul Reed Smith band.
