PRS and GRAND AM Road Racing Announce Continued Partnership

By: Staff

Paul Reed Smith Guitars and GRAND-AM Road Racing announced today they will continue their partnership during the 2011 Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 season.  PRS President Jack Higginbotham will award the overall winner of the Rolex 24 At Daytona on January 30 with the first in a series of customized PRS guitars to kick off the 2011 season.

PRS’s highly desirable, custom-painted PRS SE “GRAND-AM” 2010 trophy guitars were presented on the podium to each winning team starting with the 2010 season opener at Homestead-Miami Speedway in Florida and concluding with the championship race at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah. PRS will again present a guitar to each of the 12 DP-winning driver pairings in 2011 but will add an additional guitar for the GT-winning driver pairing. PRS decals will also adorn some cars in both the DP and GT classes, and the PRS theme will continue with “race winner” stickers for each event.

“In racing there are special awards that mean more, for instance a Rolex Daytona watch for winning the Rolex 24 At Daytona,” said defending DP champion Scott Pruett, who won nine guitars in 2010. “The same goes for the PRS guitars. For the whole Ganassi team, especially Chip, these guitars mean a lot. My PRS is placed with my most cherished awards.”

“We are excited to continue to play an active and consistent role in the race community, as we have in various ways since 2004,” Higginbotham said. “GRAND-AM offers some of the most exciting road racing in the world, which makes this partnership all the more rewarding.  We are looking forward to meeting race and PRS fans alike at several events this year!”

GRAND-AM Road Racing, which was founded in 1999, has revolutionized major league sports car road racing in North America. As the organization begins its 12th season of competition in 2011, GRAND-AM is universally regarded as one of the world’s most competitive road racing organizations. GRAND-AM Road Racing is located in Daytona Beach, Fla., on the same corporate campus that is also home to NASCAR, International Speedway Corporation (ISC) and Daytona International Speedway.
