If there’s one model that is instantly associated with the Godin brand name, it’s their line of chambered electro-acoustic guitars, namely the Multiac line. For years players had to either put up with feedback on stage, or else shell out big bucks for a custom instrument that solved that problem, that is until Godin solved both for them. Not only do these models sounds great, but they’re affordable, two things that guitarists love in their instruments.

Godin was showing off their Multiac Encore series at this year’s NAMM show and Richard Bunze gave us the lowdown on why these guitars are ready to make a splash in the guitar world.

We’re really excited about this guitar, because a lot of guys are were looking for nylon stringed guitars that they can feel comfortable playing and not have that big body on them. It’s got a really comfortable neck on it, and is similar to the neck on our Multiac ACS model. There’s a Rosewood fingerboard and its neck is a comfortable mahogany with a semi-gloss solid cedar top. So it’s a guitar you can really crank live with no feedback and we’re working with a Canadian company electronic wise, with custom electronics.

What you have here is a single-output, so you have a ¼ inch plug-in, so you can go through a PA or a guitar amp. It’s really recommended to go through a PA or an acoustic amp. Here you have sliders for volume, treble, mid, bass and blend and it’s a dual source system, so you have an under saddle transducer and you have an acoustic sound table mic. There’s a blend for that, so you can blend both and you get a really cool balance, a warm string sound and you can really crank it without feedback. You’re looking at a list price of just under $1,000, so pretty amazing.
