Summer NAMM 2010: Hal Leonard-IK Multimedia

As one would expect, Hal Leonard had a large, diverse and dynamic display at this summer’s conference. When we walked into their oversized booth in the middle of the ballroom floor, we couldn’t help but notice the excitement being displayed by the company’s employees. Hal Leonard seems to be constantly expanding and moving forward, including recently beginning distribution of M-Audio and IK Multimedia products. One of Hal Leonard-IK Multimedia’s newest releasees is the AmpliTube iRig for iPhone and it was one of the products making big waves at this summer’s NAMM show.

AmpliTube for iPhone

IK Multimedia recently launched their AmpliTube and iRig Plug Interface Adapter and it’s been a runaway success from day one. AmpliTube-iRig, which is a combination of both the soft and hardware, allows guitarists to bring their entire effects rig and amps along with them to a gig, right in their pocket. The AmpliTube software allows users to play through up to three simultaneous stomp-boxes, an amp-head plus cabinet and a microphone, which is more than most pocket-size effects processors can claim to offer.

When fully loaded, AmpliTube allows players to choose between five amp models, eleven stomp-box effects, five speaker cabinets and two separate microphones. There’s also a digital tuner and metronome included to ensure that AmliTube users are always on time and in tune. The iRig adapter is then attached to the player’s iPhone, allowing a guitar or other instrument to be plugged in and the signal then sent to a mixing board, P.A. amp, speakers or headphones.
