DSC_6811BLong before show day, Black Veil Brides sold out the Best Buy Theater in New York. The band’s loyal congregation came out in force to give praise to the Church of the Wild Ones.

BVB is out touring in support of their new CD, Wretched and Divine, The Story of the Wild Ones and showcasing six new songs in their set. Their new CD debuted at No.5 on the Billboard Top 20 Charts with over 47,000 copies being sold on its first week of release!

Only weeks into their tour, some of the guys were plagued by illness, but never canceled or missed a show. A strong band putting on an even stronger show!

At tonight’s show all the guys seemed healthy and in good spirits. The songs were played with a sense of ferocity, from the opener “I am Bulletproof”, off Wretched and Divine, to “God Bless You” to “Rebel Love Song”. The searing guitar duo of Jake Pitts and Jinxx combined with the unflinching back beat of Christian Coma [drums] and Ashley Purdy [bass] drove the songs home. In the pulpit was the dynamic and charismatic singer, Andy Biersack.

A steady stream of fog coupled with eerie lighting helped set the mood of a graveyard or post-apocalyptic battlefield. The microphone stands were draped in skulls and bones and a series of BVB logo banners hung along-side Christian’s drum kit.

You could tell the fans appreciated all the details and passion that went into their live show. They hung on every word spoken by Andy, particularly the story he told before performing the song, Youth and Whiskey, when he snuck out of his parent’s home to see Social Distortion and was introduced to whiskey for the first time.

Highlights of the show were the stellar performance put on by the guitar team of Jinxx and Jake.  Their onstage chemistry and guitar playing would rival the greats of Adrian Smith/Dave Murray and KK Downing/Glenn Tipton. Jake’s the shedder and Jinxx the musical virtuoso. Both guitarists were able to showcase their talents during the leads, but Jinxx took it one step further and used a violin during the lead for “Shadows Die”.

The crowd was stunned.

I’m sure many of the metal heads in the audience went home and asking their parents for violin lessons the next day!

Though a frigid and snowy night was draped outside, BVB raised the temperature inside the Best Buy Theater as the audience exploded during the encores of “Fallen Angels” and “In The End”.  By the time the last song ended, the band and crowd were overwhelmed with perspiration and the venue covered in confetti.

Black Veil Brides is destined to make a tremendous impact on the music industry and a their spectacular stage performances are explosive. Don’t miss the opportunity to see this band now up close in theaters, before you’re relegated to seeing them from the upper deck when they launch their career into the big arenas!
