New for 2013, PRS Guitars is expanding the popular Artist Package program to include select models across their full Core product line of electrics, acoustics, and amplifiers. The PRS Artist Package program, reintroduced last year for the first time since 2008, carries on the tradition of the original PRS Artist Series (launched more than two decades ago) by providing musicians and collectors the ability to enhance and customize PRS guitars and amps.
To create the most distinctive instruments and amplifiers available from the PRS Core production line, simply choose an applicable model, check out the built-in Artist specifications, and select any desired upgrades from the menu of options.
PRS Artist Package electric models come with an Artist grade top, Artist grade Brazilian rosewood fretboard and headstock veneer with inlaid “Paul Reed Smith” signature, Brazilian rosewood truss rod cover, Artist bird inlays, gold hardware, and an Artist case. Upgrades include neck wood, fretboard wood, and pickup options, as well as more than sixty color choices.
PRS Artist Package acoustic models come with Tasmanian blackwood back and sides, maple top purfling and binding, ebony fretboard and headstock veneer with maple purfling, ebony bridge, green select abalone bird inlays, and curly maple rosette. Upgrades include figured Koa or 3-piece Brazilian rosewood back and sides.
