According to NME.com, Slash has started working on his follow-up to his 2010 debut solo album entitled Slash. In a recent chat with Planet Rock Radio, the former Guns N’ Roses axe-man said that he would again work with Myles Kennedy, the singer of hard rock stalwarts Alter Bridge, but in a larger capacity.

At first glance, the signature leather hat, worn in true rock n roll fashion over black, stylish hair, along with the denim, leather and chains, could catch glances from across the room. Add a pair of Chuck’s (because they’re comfy and cool), a great sense of humor and you find there’s a fair amount of humility as well as fun-loving that’s undeniable. There’s lots of ink; intricate, detailed, colorful tattoos woven together that tell many stories from many years of his life adventures. He’s younger at heart than most people that have lived this life end up feeling at this point, that’s for certain.

According to Billboard.com, metal legends Slayer are continuing to tour and play live without guitarist Jeff Hanneman, who is ill. However, Tom Araya, the band’s singer and bassist, assures that the group will not record any material in his absence.

Zakk Wylde, instantly recognizable with his long blond locks, gnarly beard, and iconic black-and-white bulls-eye Les Paul and Flying V, is most widely known as the lead guitarist in Ozzy Osbourne’s band, a position he held until recently. He electrified Ozzy’s tracks with freight train riffs, screaming bends and flying finger-work, and has been doing the same while handling singing duties in his own band, Black Label Society, since 1998.

The only song, so far, released by Pennsylvania Alternative Rock band Breaking Benjamin, to reach the number one spot on the charts, “The Diary of Jane” is one of the band’s biggest and well-known singles. The band is also known for the phobias that their lead singer Benjamin Burnley possesses, including a fear of flying that has prevented the band from ever touring outside of Canada and the U.S., is currently on hiatus while Burnley seeks treatment for an illness that is related to his alcoholism, which he has been open about in recent months, admitting that he wished he’d never drank a drop of booze in his life.

Simon Kirke began his long love affair with rock n roll back in 1968 when he helped found influential British rock band Free, in which he was the drummer. Moving onward and upward, he and Paul Rodgers formed the legendary Bad Company five years later, with Simon drumming and Paul singing.

Originally written for the band Loverboy, “You Give Love a Bad Name” would instead be recorded by Bon Jovi, going on to become the band’s fire Number 1 Hit on the Billboard charts. The song would return to the charts in 2009 after it was performed on American Idol by then contestant Blake Lewis. Listed by VH1 as the 20th Greatest Hard Rock of All Time, the song was supposedly written by Jon Bon Jovi as a tribute to his them girlfriend Diane Lane, but the iconic singer has never confirmed this in the press.

Sludgy prog thrashers Mastodon have been hard at work on their follow-up to 2009′s Crack the Skye according to guitarist Brent Hinds. The heavily-tattooed Hinds, who resembles what could only be described as a mountain man, talked about the new record and his two side projects during a recent chat with Spin Magazine.
