The National GUITAR Museum announced that Alex Lifeson, one of the most revered rock guitarists of the past 50 years, will receive its annual “Lifetime Achievement” Award for 2024. Lifeson is the fifteenth recipient of the award.

In an exciting announcement for Rush fans and rock enthusiasts alike, Anthem Records in Canada and Rhino Records will reissue the first-ever solo albums of Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee. Lifeson’s 1996 album Victor and Lee’s 2000 offering My Favourite Headache will be re-released on August 9, 2024

Rush is one of the world’s most easily recognized and infamous progressive rock bands to ever dominate the world. Their music is instantly recognizable amongst their undying and ever growing fanbase, between Alex Lifeson’s intricate guitar riffs, Geddy Lee’s powerful vocals, the masterful percussion work by Neil Peart, and their overall futuristic sound.

Legendary rock band Rush has unveiled details of its highly anticipated, new album, Clockwork Angels. This is the renowned trio’s first new collection of original material in over five years and their first studio release via Anthem/Roadrunner records. Clockwork Angels, the band’s 20th studio album, will be released on June 12th.

Of all the rock bands out there, few deserve to be given the VH1 Classic Albums treatment more than Rush, with their 24 Gold and 14 Platinum records, universally acknowledged instrumental brilliance, and thousands of devoted fans worldwide. The fact that they are finally attaining this kind of popular recognition is surprising to many Rush fans, who for years have seen their idols panned by critics and ignored by the radio.

Over the course of its forty-year history, Rush has emerged from it’s beginnings as a rock band to becoming an institution of rock culture. They’re one of the few bands that have not only survived for over four decades, but have done so with the same line-up of band members. That feat is a true anomaly in the turbulent and ego-driven world of rock music. With over thirty-million records sold worldwide, award-winning videos and legions of hardcore fans, perhaps the most impressive thing about the band’s career is the manner in which they have navigated their own course. While other bands worried about mainstream success, Rush focused on mastering their instruments and musicality to make the best records possible.
