Leave it to author and guitar aficianado, Tony Bacon, to come up with a very cool book on vintage guitars with a 3D-ish orange and turquoise cover textured with a guitar sound hole and six string that readers can strum. One nice add would have been to embed some electronics so they were also a tuner, but then anyone who wants more from Tony’s tome might be considered greedy.

Acclaimed guitarist Johnny A. announces that he will be returning to the West Coast for a series of tour dates beginning on January 9, 2020. “Most of these venues will be a first for me and I’m excited to be bringing the ‘Just Me…And My Guitars’ show to them,” says Johnny A. “As I usually only get to the West Coast once a year, I’m counting on all my friends and fans to please help me get the word out.”

Ronnie Van Zant’s rise to fame and his untimely death at age of only 29 made for the most unfortunate rock star tragedy. In 1973 Van Zant, along with his original bandmates signed with MCA and began releasing what was to become some of the world’s most widely recognized Southern rock and blues music.

By 1968, Tim Buckley had developed into one of the most promising singer/songwriters on the scene, following the release of his second album, 1967’s Goodbye and Hello. Less than a year after that album’s release, Buckley checked into The Electric Theatre Co. in Chicago in May 1968 for a couple of shows.
