The MXR Custom Badass ‘78 Distortion pedal is the first in a line from MXR that is designed to roar like a huge stack as well as sound like a worn-in vintage tube amp. MXR claim to have hot-rodded this distortion pedal for over-the-top soaring leads and rich saturated rhythms. I think they succeed. This pedal packs quite a punch!

Composer Eduardo Morales-Caso is a rare artist of exceptional talent who for the past decade has been making a significant contribution to the classical guitar with many attractive works for solo guitar, flute and guitar, and voice and guitar among others. Morales-Caso also has an extensive catalog of compositions which include works for solo piano as well as orchestral and chamber music which has helped bring a great depth to his guitar compositions. There has been a growing demand for his music since his piece “El Jardin de Lindaraja” won first prize in the XIV Andres Segovia international composition competition for classical guitar in 2003.

A lot of guitarists have found themselves in this situation. Playing in countless cover bands, becoming frustrated with the gig situations and the music that they have to play every night to make ends meet and not feeling that their artistic side is being nurtured enough by their current performing situation. When guitarist and vocalist Ned Evett found himself in this situation he did what many of us have dreamed of doing, he smashed his Strat onstage, but instead of that being the end of the story, it is only the beginning.
