Ana Popovic has announced the initial sixty confirmed appearances she’ll make this year across The United States and Europe as she celebrates her 20th anniversary. There will be dozens of additional performances announced as they are confirmed in the coming weeks.

Is it really fifty years ago that Bruce Cockburn’s first album came out? Indeed it is. His eponymous titled album, which included “Going to the Country” and “Musical Friends,” was released on April 7, 1970. Coincidently, it was also the first album released by True North records.

Ronnie Van Zant’s rise to fame and his untimely death at age of only 29 made for the most unfortunate rock star tragedy. By 1968, Tim Buckley had developed into one of the most promising singer/songwriters on the scene, following the release of his second album, 1967’s Goodbye and Hello. Less than a year after that album’s release, Buckley checked into The Electric Theatre Co. in Chicago in May 1968 for a couple of shows.
