The Brotherhood of the Guitar, a brainchild of rock photographer, Robert Knight, backed by Fender Guitars, Guitar Center and Ernie Ball is gaining traction and beginning to launch into it’s own guitar movement.

Jann Klose’s new album Mosaic, due June 7, 2013 can easily be called a sonic, lyrical and emotional mosaic from an artist, who is known as one with multi-cultural roots and an equally widely-faceted career and a voice that Public Radio’s Barb Heller says, “could sing the phonebook.”

Mascot Label Group has announced a March 27 release date for the debut from Flying Colors (available the day prior overseas) on their Music Theories Label. The formation of the ensemble began with a simple idea: virtuoso musicians and a pop singer joining together to make new-fashioned music the old fashioned way.

Debra Devi, singer/guitarist for rock band DEVI and integral part of Fender’s Girl Rock Nation program, has just released a fresh new version of holiday favorite “Silent Night.” This lush indie-rock take on the oft-covered “Silent Night” features a reverb-drenched Fender Strat, Mellotron shimmers, and soaring vocals from Debra, adding her name to the long list of those who have recorded the song, including Stevie Nicks, Bing Crosby and even Boyz II Men.

New details have surfaced regarding British pop/rock giants Coldplay’s upcoming album Mylo Xyloto. On the band’s official blog, a roadie described two new songs that will appear on the Brian Eno-produced album, which is due out on October 24th.

Like the second movie or book in a trilogy, the middle days in weekend-long music fests can sometimes be disappointing, the novelty of the first day having worn off and the last day euphoria yet to come. Saturday at Lollapalooza 2011 most certainly bucked this trend, though, with dynamic performances from a slew of talented artists.
