This morning, hundreds of Paul Reed Smith Guitars enthusiasts checked in to the Experience PRS 2010 trade show before lining up to grab a hot breakfast, some OJ and a cup of Joe, before finding seats in the Main Event tent housing the stage with it’s PRS backdrop, and master of ceremonies Paul Reed Smith who welcomed the PRS distributors, dealers, guitar enthusiasts and music media folks.

I’m going to start this review with a generalization; I think that a guitarist never thinks his “tone” is good enough unless he feels happy about the gear he is using.

Guitar International was recently invited to take a tour of luthier Dan Koentopp’s Chicago workshop. We spent the afternoon checking out Dan’s tools, several guitars he had in the works and hearing about his journey as an up and coming custom-guitar builder.
