Press Release

Entitled, Burst, it covers several genres including Rock, Funk and Blues and features fluid technical work, solid grooves and singable melodies. The album was recorded at Conrad’s studio in Newton Abbot U.K., and was mastered by Josiah J Manning of the Kris Barras Band at Momentum Studios, Plymouth U.K..
Conrad has worked extensively throughout the U.K. as a tutor, session player and performer and has conducted technique workshops around the South West of England, most recently at the Bristol Guitar Show. He has also published lessons online at guitarmasterclass.net.
Burst is Conrad’s sixth album release and his first for 10 years, as he has been challenged by chronic arthritis condition.
“I have had to change the way I play quite a lot due to losing some of the finger separation in my left hand – I use right hand tapping a lot more to make up for the fact that I now find wide legato licks quite challenging…”, said Harpham.
“Recently, I have been crazily busy with teaching, performing and session work. Stylistically, Burst is in the same ballpark as Joe Satriani, with some of my madcap humour thrown in! I have tried to stick pretty much to a fluid rock feel, influenced by players such as Satch, Vai and Eric Johnson. There is a pretty good mix of styles on the album, however, including come acoustic passages and quiet moments. Music for me, is about listening and enjoying a good tune, not just performing technique for the sake of it. I like to think that you can listen to this album and not expect what is coming next.”
The Conrad Harpham Band is currently preparing to tour the South West of England, performing instrumental material from the album, which is soon to be available on iTunes or by direct order.
