One of the critical techniques that’s commonly ignored by most guitarists and many guitar instructors is the proper use the guitar pick or plectrum.
Digging too deep between the strings will slow you down or stall your playing, ride the tops of the strings and risk your notes sounding like mush or hold your pick too tight to experience a cramped hand.
Well, okay, it may not ever get to be that dramatic. But you get the idea. The pick is an important tool that’s easy to take for granted.
Fortunately, a few good folks have broken down the use of the pick in ways to focus on what works and what doesn’t. Unfortunately, there are a lot of crap videos on-line that are more entertainment than informational.
I roam Youtube searching for and reviewing hundreds of guitar lesson videos, hoping to land on three that are top-notch, where explanations are clear, important things are not skipped over and the video producers aren’t focused on themselves.
The idea here is to save you some time and to introduce you to some great on-line guitar instructors!
