Sweetwater’s GearFest 2015 launches this week [June 12-13, 2015] in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where music enthusiasts from around the globe will gather for the largest music gear event in the country, that’s also open and free to the general public.
For the past thirteen years, Sweetwater has opened its doors to the public to highlight the latest music gear on the planet.
On Thursday, an expected on-site visitor population of 10,000 music enthusiasts, a series of expert seminars and clinics, world-class performers, and nearly 400 top vendor displays and demonstrations of guitars, amps and the coolest of gear.
Sweetwater Founder and President Chuck Surack noted, “GearFest has become an extraordinary, one-of-a-kind event in the music retail business. Where else can musicians and music-lovers come to see, hear, enjoy – not to mention buy — what is usually reserved for music industry insiders at your typical trade show? We’re also particularly proud to be able to produce this huge event in Fort Wayne, bringing people here from literally all across the country.”
Before the official start of Gearfest, Sweetwater is offering five Amplified Workshops, Thursday, June 11 [8:00 am to 5:00 pm]: Pursuing the Ultimate Guitar Sound ($199); The Art of Studio Mixing (Sold Out); The Craft of Songwriting ($199); Shaping the Sound of Worship ($99) and Synth Tips and Tricks ($78). Seating is limited, so sign up now!
While workshop Wednesday’s Amplified Workshop participants will be learning, vendors will be hustling around to get their exhibits set up, gear staged and power lines tested so when the doors open on Thursday morning everything is set to “go”.
Sweetwater expects a throng of early bird arrivals who will be eager to seek out their favorite brands, explore and discover new “stuff” and grab a guitar or their own favorite musical instrument to noodle around or blast away.
Hundreds of vendors will be reaching out to dealers, distributors and the general public to show their stuff. See GearFest’s list of exhibitor’s HERE.
Dig into the Sweetwater GearFest 2015 site and you’ll see that the company has made this an inclusive event. Not only is the public invited, but there will be seminars and clinics, a flea market of used and vintage gear, brand new top-end exhibitors, inventive gear from tech companies and all the accessories and cool stuff anyone would want.
Musicians love sensory overload and Sweetwater has pushed the envelope to concentrate a colorful and exciting cornucopia of gear in one spot, and amplified by featured musicians that include Glenn Hughes, Nathan East, Jeff “Skunk” Baxter, DJ Ashba, Shawn Pelton, Gary Hoey, Javier Reyes and more.
Hot ticket eye-candy displays are expected from PRS, Martin, Taylor, Fender, Gibson and other top guitar builders. Strats and Teles, 10-tops, dreadnaughts, slope shouldered acoustics and more will be there and “set to stun”.
Drum kits, special effects and all sorts of gear and media are being staged to attract novice, intermediate and advanced players.
Visitors will have a chance to win hourly giveaway drawings, where $80,000 worth of gear will be offered that will include products from Roland, Fender, Gibson, Yamaha, Moog and others.
