Paul Reed Smith Guitars is bringing newly designed custom electric guitar trophies back to the prestigious GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series for 2013.
This will mark the fourth consecutive year that the Stevensville, Maryland guitar and amplifier manufacturer has created the trophies for race winners from each of the twelve Rolex Series races in both the Daytona Prototype (DP) and Grand Touring (GT) classes.
Winners from each of the twelve Rolex Series races will receive one of these special PRS guitar trophies, which sport GRAND-AM Road Racing and Rolex Series logos, on the podium in victory lane.
These special PRS trophy guitars sport a custom GRAND-AM Road Racing fretboard inlay and a Rolex Series logo on the guitar body. Other features include a maple top with flame maple veneer stained in PRS’s vibrant Blue Matteo finish, mahogany back, 25” scale length, widefat, 22 fret mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard, and PRS designed stoptail bridge.
The solid-body fully-functional electric guitar also comes with PRS designed humbucking pickups, volume and tone controls with a 3-way toggle switch allowing for versatility in sound and control.
Replicas of the guitar trophies will be available exclusively through Guitar Center for musicians, race fans, and guitar collectors alike.
Pre-ordering through Guitar Center is recommended as there will be a limited quantity of these special guitars made. The PRS guitar trophies will be displayed in the FANZONE area at every Rolex Sports Car Series race.
